This is a one-of-a-kind (or maybe two-of-a-kind). This was discovered in the back offices of the Showalter Dairy Store in the 1980s. It was housed in Louise Hughes’ house for decades until a clean out landed it in my possession. I had seen an advertisement brochure for this item, but thought it was “hypothetical.” Who would ever marry hotdogs with milk, orange juice and chocolate milk? But it is real.
The display stands about two feet tall. It has a switch and a potential power unit to heat up. The cord is missing. The idea was that a hungry customer would heat his hot dog on one of the five pairs of heating spikes. They would then purchase a Showalter’s milk, Green Spot Orangeade or Showalter’s chocolate milk and enjoy!
An extreme combination in my opinion. A valued treasure for the Showalter legacy.
